Puerto Nuevo Staff Retreat

From Jill: Bienvenidos a Purto Nuevo! Welcome to New Port!
Where to begin!!! We have met many wonderful missionaries, heard fantastic teaching, enjoyed spectacular views and have been so blessed by the Holy Spirit... being totally imersed in God's grace amd goodnes!
There are missionaries here from all over the Baja Peninsula, from Cabo San Lucas at the bottom to Tijuana at the top. All are apart of this terrific ministry organization called Mexican Medical Ministries. Each person and couple focus on different aspects of Mex Med's vision for Mexico bringing healing and hope.
One of the teachings we had today was on "vision" and developing individual mission and vision statements. These will help to effectivly communicate our goals and help to keep us on track through this process of support raising. Support Development has been another topic that we have been learning about. The information will help us to raise support more quickly so we can move to Mexico sooner! (We will have more intensive training on this next week.) We have also been encouraged to live a radical faith (Jesus taught radical living!). We have learned about goals, to pray and seek God's wisdom. We heard that what God wants to develop in the process (of support raising) is more important than acheiving the goal-so encouraging!
This retreat has been such a blessing and has provided a wealth of information. We are so grateful that we came. Last night Ed and I, along with 2 other upcoming missionaries, were prayed for. We have had praise and worship music each night in both English and Spanish! Tonight we will have a concentrated evening of prayer.
Tomorrow (Thursday) we will leave for the Gabriel House in Maneadero, just south of Ensenada. We will be traveling with one of MexMed's doctors, Doctor Alvarez and his wife Soledad. They are both such beautiful people. Soledad speaks English as much as I speak Spanish - it's pretty funny! The Alvarez's serve in Cabo San Lucas ,all the way at the bottom of the peninsula. We expect to arrive at the Gabriel House before lunch time. I am hopeful that we will be able to use the Faver's computer. (Ted and Renie Faver are the directors of the Gabriel House.) Please pray for them, as thier health is not well.
Here we have been able to relax, enjoy the sun and sounds of the surf. Our souls have been fed through fellowship and the gifts of others. Our minds and hearts have been blesseed with teaching and instruction. Our spirits have been touched with prayer. Please continue to pray for us, as tomorrow we head to the Gabriel House. We are excited and anxious to see what the Lord has in store for us there.
Many blessings ~ Dios Les Bendigas
